Werder head coach Ole Werner will most likely be without wing-back Felix Agu against Karlsruher SC this weekend, and Abdenego Nankishi is also unavailable for the match. Besides from these two, Werder have a fully-fit squad going into the game, which kicks off at 13:30 CET on Saturday (5/2).
“We assume Felix will most likely be unable to play this weekend. He’s made some progress, but unless something extraordinary happens, he will unfortunately miss out,” commented Werner at the pre-match presser. “I know from experience that injuries to the patella tendon can be very painful. It’s difficult to predict, but we don’t think we’ll be without him for much longer.”
Candidates to play at wing-back include Manuel Mbom and Mitchell Weiser. “Manu played well against Paderborn, whereas Mitch has proven himself to be good in the attacking phase. We haven’t made our decision yet. Both are fit, and Mitch has recovered well following his period in isolation,” explained Werner.
