Reaction to the Karlsruhe game

On the game:

Marco Friedl: “From the 10th minute onwards we were the better team and had several chances, but we’ve not come away with the result we envisaged. We had to show a reaction following the last few games and today is a step in the right direction, even though we are disappointed to have only drawn the game.”

Niclas Füllkrug: “We always looked good until we reached the 18-yard box, and then at the crucial moment we didn’t get it right. The clean sheet was a positive, but we need to be more clinical in attack. I will keep working and try to view today as a good test.”

Markus Anfang: “Overall, we played well. We let Hofmann get two headers off in the first half, and we know he dangerous he can be. Romano himself had two good chances, Fülle had two and Rappo could have got the rebound off one of those, but the ball just got away from him. Overall, the point we got today is more than deserved, but it has to be said that we also dropped two points.”

Frank Baumann: "The team showed a good reaction and gave it their all. At the start you could see that they were somewhat unsure, but they got better as the first half went on and we came out well after half time."

Markus Anfang: “After the red card, the lads got a bit hectic. We absolutely wanted to win but we rushed our chances on too many occasions.”

Frank Baumann: “Although we controlled the game after the red card, we lacked conviction and precision. The extra man brought us more possession but we failed to capitalise on this. The players’ confidence in one-on-one situations is still lacking.”

Marco Friedl: “We moved the ball well which allowed us to get up the pitch. After the red card, we all got very tense and became far too hectic, which wasn’t easy to manage.”
