Goalkeeper Luca Plogmann will leave SV Werder Bremen to join third-division side SV Meppen on a season-long loan.
The 20-year-old has also agreed to a contract extension with the Green-Whites in order for the loan deal to be completed. Plogmann will be working under former Werder captain Torsten Frings, who took over as head coach of Meppen ahead of the upcoming season.
“Luca is a talented goalkeeper with a lot of potential. For him to continue his development, it’s important that he be given playing time at a higher level in the third division. Meppen are a club with high ambitions and a good fit for Luca to develop, following his experience in the Regionalliga with our U23s. We will keep a close eye on his progression,” said Werder sporting director, Frank Baumann.
Luca Plogmann has made one Bundesliga appearance for the Green-Whites, in addition to playing 37 games in the Regionalliga Nord.
