Ludwig Augustinsson played the full 90 minutes in Sweden’s opening match of UEFA EURO 2020 in Seville on Monday evening. The left-back played an important role as Sweden held Spain to a goalless draw and picked up their first point of the tournament.
In the first 0-0 draw of the EUROs, Spain had a remarkable 85% possession but were unable to find a way past the Swedish defence. Ludwig Augustinsson and his international teammates withstood the pressure and frustrated a dominant Spain team in their opening match in Group E. Elsewhere in the group, Slovakia beat Poland 2-1 to take an early lead with the three points.
Sweden play their next match on Friday 18th June against Slovakia at 15:00 CEST. Augustinsson will be hoping to retain his position at right-back in the match in St. Petersburg.
