SV Werder Bremen will have to make do without two of their centre-backs. Milos Veljkovic suffered a broken toe and undergo an operation on Monday. “Milos picked up the injury with the Serbian national team at the beginning of June. The planned treatment unfortunately wasn’t as successful as we had hoped, so he was operated on in Frankfurt on Monday. He will miss pre-season,” said sporting director Frank Baumann.
Meanwhile, Sebastian Langkamp suffered a calf strain in training and will therefore not take part in the training camp in Zillertal.
“Of course the injuries to Bastia and Milos at the start of pre season are very frustrating. We wish them both the quickest possible recovery and hope to see them back on the pitch as soon as possible. Some players from the U23s will now be able to show what they can do in Zillertal,” explained Baumann on Tuesday.
