Michael Zetterer has signed a contract extension – his previous deal was due to expire at the end of the campaign. The 23-year-old goalkeeper has joined SK Austria Klagenfurt on a loan deal until the end of the season, Werder sporting director Frank Baumann confirmed on Wednesday.

“It’s important for Zetti to gain match experience on a consistent basis,” explained Baumann.

Zetterer, who recently returned to action after a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a hand injury, joined Werder in winter 2015 from Unterhaching. He has represented Bremen on 23 occasions in the 3. Liga as well as 7 times in the Regionalliga.
