In another intensely fought friendly SV Werder went down 1-0 to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Werder largely controlled the ball in the opening exchanges, but the better chances fell to the English second division side. However, the early part of the match went by without too many clear cut chances, with most of the action taking place in midfield as both teams made strong tackles. The Green-Whites found it difficult to break down a tight Wolves defence. Wolves went ahead early in the second half when a neat pass found Nouha Dicko who finished in the 49th minute. Along with a shot from distance, captain Zlatko Junuzovic had two more chances to equalise. His free-kick hit the crossbar and then his second struck the post. Most unfortunate. In the end, the match finished 1-0 to Wolves.
