SV Werder Bremen are disappointed that the city of Bremen and the Weserstadion is not being considered as a host city for the German EURO 2024 bid. “Bremen submitted a strong application but it has unfortunately not been accepted. We are convinced that Bremen, with its special footballing atmosphere, would have added a distinctive character to the German bid. This city and region lives for football and we would’ve loved to have shown our love for the game to Europe and so we are extremely disappointed,” Werder’s president and chief executive Dr. Hubertus Hess-Grunewald said on Friday afternoon.
