The Green-Whites are heading on the road this week for the last time this year as the destination is Borussia Park - home grounds for Borussia Mönchengladbach. SVW will take on Gladbach there on Wednesday 17 December 2014 at 8 p.m. on the 16th match day of the Bundesliga. The following statistical overview shows why Borussia Park has been a welcome site for the Green-Whites; who will be facing off against his "old love" on Wednesday; and where SVW's current strengths are.

Did you know ...

... that Werder are mostly successful in playing against Mönchengladbach in mid-week action? The two teams have faced off 17 times in mid-week action and Werder won nine times with six match-ups ending in draws. The Green-Whites also won the last match on a Wednesday, collecting a 2-0 home victory on 10 April 1996. Back then a current Werder leader was subbed in after 83 minutes. Who that was will come later.

... that Werder are especially dangerous on set pieces? They have already collected 10 goals after free kicks or corners. That is the most in the league. In the last three games, Werder have scored four goals after set pieces.

... that Viktor Skripnik can pass Otto Rehhagel with a road victory? Rehhagel collected an average of 1.79 points in 480 matches as Werder coach from 1981 to 1995. With a road victory, Skripnik's average would jump to 1.86 points per game and jump him into first place in SVW's all-time rankings - albeit after just eight competitive matches.

... that the match will be a reunion between manager of sports Thomas Eichin and his "old love"? Eichin spent nearly his entire professional career with Mönchengladbach. The former right back played 180 Bundesliga matches for Gladbach between 1987 and 1999. The previously mentioned 2-0 win for Werder was Eichin's last appearance as an active player at Weser Stadium.

... that no team has conceded more shots on goal than Mönchengladbach? Yann Sommer, who took over this summer as Gladbach's top keeper, has already seen 243 shots taken against him this season.
