Midfielder Florian Trinks is leaving SV Werder Bremen and transferring with immediate effect to fellow Bundesliga club SpVgg Greuther Fürth. Both clubs agreed on the deal Tuesday afternoon. The 20-year-old Trinks signed a contract with Fürth until 2016. Neither side released further details about the deal.
"We wanted to extend the contract with Florian and send him out on loan to gain more game practice to reach another level which he could not get here at the moment," said head coach Thomas Schaaf. "Florian however ruled out a contract extension so that we had to decide on a clear cut and granted his wish to transfer clubs," added Frank Baumann, director of professional football and scouting.
Trinks leaves SV Werder with both happiness and sadness. "I always felt welcome with Werder and in Bremen, and my decision was not an easy one. But it was time for me to get a new orientation and take the next step in my career," said Trinks. "I am happy about the job and hope that I can gather a lot of experience in the Bundesliga in the second half and help the team avoid relegation," said Trinks.
