The Werder players Tuesday morning went through their first training session on the pitch before the North Derby at Hamburg (Sunday 23 November 2014, 3:30 p.m.). Ludovic Obraniak and Marnon Busch both missed out with injuries while the international players did not take part as they are still on national team duty.
While Obraniak had to sit out with the flu, Busch missed training with a left calf muscle fibre tear, which he suffered in the test match against Odense BK. "Ludo has been in bed the last couple days with the flu but he should return to individual training tomorrow," said coach Viktor Skripnik. "With Marnon, that will take a bit longer unfortunately. It's very unfortunate because he took a hit right after his cold. We hope that he can be back as soon as possible."
Julian von Haacke, who has been out since the beginning of the season with a torn knee ligament, will also have to slow down in the coming weeks. The 20-year-old hyper-extended the anterior ligament and needs to relax his knee for two weeks before he can start up his rehab again.
