Werder Bremen centre back Leon Balogun went down with an injury during the training game at the end of Thursday's session in a challenge with Tom Trybull, holding his knee and he unable to continue on. Balogun limped off the pitch early on with his knee heavily bandaged.
"I felt that something had happened immediately. It would be totally aggravated if I missed a long time," said Balogun. "We have to wait for the exact diagnosis," added head coach Thomas Schaaf about the injury to his defender.
Tim Borowski meanwhile is making good developments. "It is not yet certain if ‘Boro' can return to team training on Friday. The chance is there but eventually he may not get back to the pitch until during the weekend," said Schaaf.
