Not even 24 hours after Werder Bremen's test match against Fenerbahce in Osnabrück, there was plenty going on at the Bremen training grounds at Weser Stadium.

A number of U23 players took part in head coach Thomas Schaaf's training on Wednesday 24 August 2011. Those Werder players who played against the Turkish record champions were only around shortly for those spectators at the training grounds as Schaaf had them only go through a short run.

Lukas Schmitz and Wesley meanwhile were not even able to make it out to training. "Lukas has a slight infection while Wesley suffered a bruise. He trained inside," said Schaaf about the status of the two players, who hope to return to the training grounds soon and test themselves with the rest of their teammates in a training match.
