More personnel problems for SV Werder Bremen as Sokratis had to pull out of the Düsseldorf match (kick-off at 3:30 p.m.) right after final training with adductor problems. Head coach Thomas Schaaf confirmed that after the session Friday afternoon and a final talk on the grounds between the coach and his defender.

A few minutes early, Tom Trybull had to leave the pitch early as the 20-year-old succumbed to his tendon problems. Trybull therefore did not make the squad for the Düsseldorf game. At least Schaaf was able to turn a question mark into an exclamation point as Philipp Bargfrede returned to the team after his knee problem and was added directly into the 18-man Green-Whites squad. "It went really well for Philipp. He is in," confirmed Schaaf on Friday.

Despite the return of the midfielder, Werder's personnel problems are quite large. Schaaf will not have the services of 10 players. "Now we have to see how we deal with it. Whoever is in the squad is an option for the starting line-up," said Schaaf. That includes even Max Wegner, who was nominated for the professional squad for the first time and can hope to appear in the match at Düsseldorf's Esprit Arena.
