Lennart Thy was given an extra bit of motivation in the season preparations after a special praise by head coach Thomas Schaaf. The coach publicly praised the young, inexperienced striker's showing Tuesday evening.
"It's not only about who has played 100 Bundesliga matches but who works in training. And I am very happy with what he has shown in the preparations. He has qualities which can help the team. He can hold balls up front, wins balls and has a solid scoring rate," said the Bremen coach.
The young striker from Frechen has put together a good start in a new phase of his career. Manager Klaus Allofs also discussed the forward recently as well. "I am very much looking forward to how Lennart and Florian Trinks present themselves here. They have never been in this situation before, without the worries of schooling and being able to concentrate on professional football. They are after all among the best players from their age group," said Allofs.
Thy not only convinced the coach and manager at the Freiburg game but also possible attack partner Claudio Pizarro. "Our strikers played really well in Freiburg and scored a lot of goals. I hope that they can all keep going," said Pizarro. Thy is also continually pushed forward by Marko Marin. "He supports me, pushes me, comes over to me and demands a goal - then I also give him one. He just has to give me the right passes, then it's easy," grinned Thy.
