SV Werder Bremen sent Aleksandar Stevanovic on loan for half a season to Dutch first division side PEC Zwolle, as head coach Thomas Schaaf announced Saturday morning. "We have had good experiences with PEC Zwolle with Denni Avdic and we hope that Aleksandar can also receive a good level of playing time," said Schaaf about the loan of the 20-year-old.
Stevanovic accepted the loan, saying: "I would like to take the next step in my career and gladly accept this move. The half-year will help me to play more again. I will really give my all until the end of the season and hope that I can play in a strong league."
The midfielder had already completed a tryout with the Dutch side in the past couple of days. With his new employer, he will play until the season's end with Avdic, who is also on loan from Werder.
Stevanovic transferred in the summer of 2011 from Schalke 04's U19 team to SV Werder and appeared in three matches in the Bundesliga. In addition, the 20-year-old played 17 times for Werder's U23s in the third league and once in the Regionalliga.
