+++ The game roster against Chemnitz is set: The second session under Viktor Skripnik was at the same time the final training ahead of the cup match against Chemnitzer FC. The new Werder coach must make do without Marnon Busch as the right back will miss the cup match with the flu. +++

The 18-man roster in overview:
Wolf, Strebinger - Garcia, Caldirola, Gálvez, Lukimya, Obraniak, Fritz, Di Santo, Hajrovic, Prödl, Junuzovic, Kroos, Aycicek, Bartels, Gebre Selassie, Petersen and Selke.

+++ Sold-out construction site: The Chemnitz Stadium at Gellertstraße is right in the middle of renovations. Additional spectator stands are being installed for the cup match. There will also be plenty of Green-Whites support as the Werder fans used up their entire away team contingent of 1,700 tickets. All told, more than 2,000 Werder fans are expected at the match, which would make up 20 percent of the crowd. +++

+++ Merte says hi and wishes good luck: Werder's new assistant coach Torsten Frings played with Per Mertesacker for the Green-Whites from 2006-2011. In addition to the 2009 cup title, the duo also spent years together with the German national team. ‘Merte' took to Facebook to wish his old friend and SV Werder all the best in the cup, writing "Good luck!" The center back is playing in Arsenal and is using the motivational hashtag #dieletztenwerdendieerstensein (thelastwillbethefirst). +++

+++ Farewell words to team: Before Viktor Skripnik took over the Werder training on Sunday, out-going coach Robin Dutt, his assistant Damir Buric and goalkeeper coach Marco Langner were able to personally say goodbye to the players. "Or course the three of them got the chance to say farewell at Weser Stadium. We left on good terms and everyone can look each other in the eyes," said manager Thomas Eichin about the meeting. +++
