Once again, Werder failed to reward themselves for the massive invested effort, were unable to make effective use of the chances they created and at the end of the seventh match day of the campaign, the Green-Whites still desperately search their first win. "The situation is really critical. We are now bottom of the table and we've no one left to look over our shoulder at. That is catastrophic and it really doesn't feel good," commented a deeply disappointed Zlatko Junuzovic at the end of the match.

"We are all well aware of the severity of the situation. There is no point trying to avoid the issue and delving deeper into the negatives. We need to work hard, look to the future, learn from our mistakes and, above all, pull together more - we can only get out of this as a unit. We are a team and we will prove that now," said the Austrian international.

Fin Bartels: „It certainly wasn't a good game, but we gave it our all - we definitely cannot be accused of not going all out for the win. We lacked the precision going forward, which led to us not creating enough chances. That just wasn't enough to get the win."

Zlatko Junuzovic: „We can merely accuse ourselves of not performing in the first twenty minutes - we weren't in the game at all! After that we showed that we can play football, but as so often has been the case this season, a point from the game today is just not enough. It was clear to see that we were under pressure - we made life too difficult for ourselves in front of the opposition goal and we became far too hectic."

Thomas Eichin: „The game typically mirrored the last few matches. The yield is not in relation to the massive effort we are investing. That's been the case for weeks. We need to make far more effective use of our chances. We are not consistent enough in forcing the ball over the line."

Robin Dutt: „It was a game with a lot of challenges and emotions. The early setback wasn't good, but the lads never let that get to them. We battled for all three points right to the final minute and we threw everything at them. In the final quarter hour that could have gone either way."
