The Werder loaned striker John Jairo Mosquera will be remaining with Union Berlin beyond this season. Werder Bremen manager Klaus Allofs agreed with the 23-year-old to void at the end of the season their contract which went until 2012 with Mosquera on loan to the second division side until the summer of 2011. At the same time, the striker signed a new contract with Berlin until 30 June 2014.

"John Jairo Mosquera has found an environment in Berlin in which he feels comfortable and has found a sporting home. With this agreement we accepted his wish to continue playing in Berlin. At the same time we found a good solution with Union. We wish him all the best for the future," said Allofs Friday morning.
