As part of the member assembly, SV Werder Bremen GmbH & Co KG aA presented its financial situation for the 2010-11 season. Under the leadership of managers Klaus Allofs, Klaus Filbry and Klaus-Dieter Fischer, the club generated 119.9 million euro turnover. The profits of 8.2 million euro were the second-largest in Werder history. "Considering all conditions, that is a very good result. We know that the positive numbers mainly came from the earnings from the Champions League. Looking ahead, we rate this business result as a safeguarding for the coming season without earnings from European competition," the chairman of the board Klaus Allofs said Monday night at the Green-Whites' member assembly in Bremen.
With that, Werder Bremen has generated a positive yearly result for the seventh consecutive year. The Green-Whites' leadership, as usual, dealt matter-of-factly with the evaluation of the numbers. With the positive numbers, the management looked into the future with the club members at the Werder Hall on Hemelinger Straße. "It is our understanding after serious work that we can already say that such numbers will not be possible next year. One year without the Champions League cannot be absorbed by the core business of the Bundesliga," said Allofs. "But thanks to our continual, solid financial management over the years, we can offset such a phase with some setbacks."
