Werder striker Miroslav Klose will see out his current contract in Bremen, which expires on 30.06.2008. Following holding discussions with Werder’s management, the German international announced his intentions and put an end to rumours of him preparing to leave the club ahead of time.
Werder’s general manager Klaus Allofs commented on the front mans decision: “We are happy that the decision has now finally been made. There were three possibilities from the outset. Miro could have extended his contract, moved abroad or see out his current contract with Werder Bremen. He chose the third option. We would have liked him to have made the decision earlier but now we have the necessary clarity we need going into the final stage of the season.”
Allofs continued: “Considering the turbulence of recent weeks, it is essential now to gather the energy of the club, team and fans heading into Thursday’s UEFA Cup semi final second leg clash with Espanyol Barcelona.
