Werder players took part in the official training session in the afternoon on Thursday 4 November 2010 for the Bundesliga away match at Stuttgart. But there was plenty going on in the morning at the Weser Stadium training grounds. While injured Clemens Fritz and Petri Pasanen were running laps with fitness coach Yann-Benjamin Kugel, there were a number of balls flying through the air just meters away. Werder keeper Tim Wiese was going through a final exertion test with goal keeper coach Michael Kraft. The result was that Wiese and his knee held up. That meant Werder’s number one keeper would be back at team training in the afternoon and back between the posts on Sunday in Stuttgart.
"Tim is available to us again. He will take over his spot in goal," said Thomas Schaaf at the press conference before the match at Stuttgart. "Sebastian Mielitz was an excellent replacement. You can only congratulate him for his performance. Others would maybe be somewhat nervous in his situation. But 'Miele' had the trust of the team with his calming manner. He gave them security and proved that he deserved to get the playing time," said Schaaf.
