Werder Bremen have prematurely extended their contract with striker Marko Futacs for one year until 30 June 2012 and at the same time sent the player on loan for the 2010-11 season to FC Ingolstadt. Manager Klaus Allofs announced the transfer Friday afternoon after all talks with the second division club were successfully completed.
"Marko is a striker who has developed quite well recently but has had a tough time getting playing time with our players in the attack. He showed in the preparations how much potential he has and we are certain that the transfer to Ingolstadt is a sensible next step for him," said Allofs. "He will fight his way through in the 2nd Bundesliga with his class and gather some very valuable experience."
Marko Futacs already left Werder’s training camp in Donaueschingen on Thursday afternoon. Futacs could pull on the Ingolstadt jersey already as part of the opening of the Audi Sportpark on Saturday in the tournament with Wolfsburg and Augsburg.
