Werder Bremen completed their final training session at Weser Stadium for the Europa League away match against Twente Enschede under sunny skies Tuesday afternoon. The team will be leaving Wednesday morning for Enschede but it remains unclear if Aaron Hunt will be making the trip. The 23-year-old had to leave Tuesday’s training early with an injury. "I got hit in the ankle during a challenge," said Hunt, who will not know the extent of his injury until a check up by team doctor Götz Dimanski.
Bargfrede and Jensen stay in Bremen
Definitely not on the game roster for Twente will be Philipp Bargfrede and Daniel Jensen. The Danish international Jensen has practiced with the Green-Whites in team training since Sunday but an appearance would be too early. "Daniel was able to complete the whole training but we have to see whether and how he deals with it," said head coach Thomas Schaaf. And the coach said fans need to have patience with Bargfrede after missing two months due to injury.
Schaaf: "They have been absolutely convincing"
The coach also warned his team before departing for Enschede on Wednesday morning that while Twente may not be a top name the Green-Whites have to be 100 percent prepared for their opponents. "They have been absolutely convincing until now, showing excellent performances and deserve to be in second place in the Dutch league," said Schaaf, who added that the Dutch have top quality at all positions. "They have a very good side all the way through and they push forward very quickly. And they have proven this season that they work very strong on defence as well," warned the coach.
