Twente Enschede just cannot break the knot in 2010. Werder's up-coming opponent in the Europa League could not do any better than a 0-0 draw against FC Groningen on the 19th game day in the Dutch Eredivisie. Just days earlier, Enschede had played to just a scoreless draw in a make-up match in Utrecht. The main person responsible for things working at least defensively for Enschede is goalkeeper Sander Boschker, who set a record in passing the legendary "Mr. PSV" Willy can der Kuijlen with 528 league matches for only one club. The 39-year-old keeper however could not really enjoy his special day as Groningen were too often pressuring the Enschede goal.

Just after the final whistle head coach Steve McLaren had plenty of reasons to complain about his team's poor showing. And even though Twente remained undefeated on the season, the club allowed PSV Eindhoven to leapfrog them for the top spot in the standings after Eindhoven's 3-0 victory at home against Nijmegen.
