Good news before the Christmas celebrations: Werder striker talent Pascal Testroet has prematurely extended his contract with the Green-Whites and will wear the Green-Whites jersey until 2012. "We are happy that Pascal will continue to play for us. He is one of the biggest talents in our U23 team and has gone through a very good development since his transfer two years ago from Schalke to Werder," said manager Klaus Allofs.
Pascal Testroet is Werder’s most successful attacker in the third league with eight goals. The 19-year-old has been in the Bremen system since summer 2008 but on Sunday he signed his first professional contract with Werder. "This is a very important step for me in my career. I have worked towards this moment for 16 years," said Testroet, who purposely chose Sunday for his contract extension. "That was the birthday of my deceased grandfather. We were really close, and he always said he would continue to follow my career from heaven. That’s why I signed my contract on his birthday," said the attacker.
