Werder Bremen would like to celebrate the end of the year 2009 with their fans. Manager Klaus Allofs doesn’t want "just a victory against Schalke" but also "small presents which will be handed out to the fans after the game". Allofs also spoke of the "odd surprise for all Green-White supporters". WERDER.TV has a great surprise ready for the stadium visitors as Werder do not want to close the year without a small thank you for the fans. "This place has been full for years," emphasised head coach Thomas Schaaf, who underlined that the team wants to offer "something special" on Saturday.
With the end of the year nearing and just two games left before the winter break, Allofs offered up a positive recap of the season thus far. "Until now everything has gone well. We are still in all three competitions," said Allofs, who also mentioned the enormous importance of the remaining two Bundesliga games. "It is still decisive how the games against Schalke and Hamburg end up. Of course we would like to strengthen our good position. I think altogether we can be very satisfied with the development." And head coach Thomas Schaaf added: "I am only thinking about the Schalke game. Much more important than leading at the winter break is seeing which players are available on the weekend. Leading at the winter break is not that important for us," said the 48-year-old coach.
