There were no surprises in the final training Saturday afternoon ahead of Werder Bremen’s away match at Stuttgart. Head coach Thomas Schaaf will rely on the same squad that won the Europa League home game against Bilbao. The Green-Whites will once again be missing Tim Borowski and Sebastian Boenisch. Daniel Jensen was also not part of the players’ list despite training the past few days with the team. But a nomination of Jensen for Sunday was still too early for Schaaf. "Daniel is not yet 100 percent. He is still not moving well enough after the long injury break," said the coach.
Torsten Oehrl and Niklas Andersen once again were in Werder’s squad for the game in Stuttgart. The two youngsters won their home game for Werder’s U23 team Saturday afternoon, beating Dynamo Dresden 2-0 (1-0) with Oehrl scoring both goals.
Thomas Schaaf nominated the following 17-man squad after the final training session: Wiese, Vander, Pasanen, Naldo, Fritz, Rosenberg, Marin, Özil, Hunt, Frings, Pizarro, Niemeyer, Mertesacker, Marcelo Moreno, Bargfrede, Oehrl, Andersen
