Tim Borowski will be returning to Werder Bremen after a one-year stay with Bayern Munich. The 29-year-old midfielder signed on a three-year contract until 30 June 2012 with an option for an additional year.

"With Tim, we are getting a very experienced player who really fits into our young team. We know what we have in him. He showed that with Werder over the years," said Werder manager Klaus Allofs, who met with Bayern manager Uli Hoeness on Tuesday to agree on the move. "We found a solution satisfactory for both sides," said Allofs. Both teams agreed to not release details of the deal. Werder head coach Thomas Schaaf welcomed his returnee with open arms. "We are really happy that this transfer worked. We have already celebrated success with "Boro". He knows the structures in Bremen and I think that he also is happy about joining us," said Schaaf.

Tim Borowski has already left Bayern Munich’s training camp and will join his new team as soon as possible. "I had a curious year with Bayern. But I wouldn’t want to have missed this excellent experience. But I am happy about Werder and am ready to give my all," said Borowski looking towards the future.
