On the way back from Norderney Werder played their traditional test match in Leer/Loga against a selection of players from Germania Leer and Frisia Loga, winning 5-0....

On the way back from Norderney Werder played their traditional test match in Leer/Loga against a selection of players from Germania Leer and Frisia Loga, winning 5-0. Marcelo Moreno Martins and Naldo made it 2-0 shortly after half an hour mark while Marko Futacs pushed the advantage to 3-0 and Timo Perthel and Petri Pasanen finished off the scoring late.

 

"Even if we didn't start the game very well, today was decisively better than against Essen, with much more movement and joy of play. This was the right way," said head coach Thomas Schaaf, who also praised Marcelo Moreno Martins. "He rewarded himself as he really ran a lot and found some good space and called for a lot of balls," added Schaaf.
