German national team coach Joachim Löw on Thursday afternoon announced his roster for the up-coming 2010 World Cup South Africa qualification games against Liechtenstein on 28 March 2009 at 8 p.m. in Leipzig and versus Wales on 1 April 2009 at 8:45 p.m. in Cardiff.
Three Werder Bremen players have made the 23-man German squad - goalkeeper Tim Wiese, defender Per Mertesacker and midfielder Torsten Frings. Bremen midfielder Mesut Özil will have to wait for his second cap for Germany after making his international debut on 11 February 2009 against Norway as the 20-year-old was not nominated for the qualifiers.
