No time for a break. Barely three days after the passionately fought point against Bayern Munich, the next showdown awaits Werder Bremen tonight at 7 p.m. The Green-Whites will travel to Wolfsburg for the quarter-finals of the German DFB Cup. "There is no reason for one competition to stand out. It is the next game and therefore it is also the most important one," underlined head coach Thomas Schaaf.

Schaaf's team lags 11 gut-wrenching points adrift of the international spots in the Bundesliga. And there have been easier situations to overcome. That left Schaaf getting straight to the point: "In the cup you have fewer games to win a title than in the other competitions." That also means a ticket for European football next season. Bremen are just two stops from reaching the final in Berlin. And the first of those steps is a trip to Lower Saxony.

There are various statistics regarding these teams which mean very little but are worth mentioning. Wolfsburg are currently the hottest club in the league. With four victories and a draw they have collected the most points in the second half. Werder meanwhile are dead last in the second half standings with just two points. But Thomas Schaaf's respect goes much further than some numbers. "Wolfsburg have played excellent all season," he said. "They are loaded in attack. Dzeko, Grafite, Dejagah, Misimovic and Gentner all like to push forward into the offense. But they also have a very disciplined defence. And they have been like that all season."

The following 18 players will be available for head coach Thomas Schaaf in the German DFB Cup match in Wolfsburg on Wednesday: Pellatz (will play keeper), Mielitz - Boenisch, Pasanen, Naldo, Baumann, Fritz, Rosenberg, Diego, Özil, Hunt, Prödl, Tziolis, Jensen, Frings, Almeida, Pizarro, Mertesacker
