On the second day since the exodus of players, who are away on international duty with their respective nations, there was little change at Werder Bremen. Trainer Thomas Schaaf didn’t spare the few players he has left to work with and took the opportunity to concentrate on the speed of their reactions as well as their general pace.
“It was a tough training session but a very important one for me,” admitted midfielder Diego, who is now back from his trip to Portugal. “It’s a long time since we trained that hard so that’s quite ok.”
In the afternoon Schaaf gathered his troops again for the second session of the day, but this time for a more relaxed programme focused mainly on game formations.
