Deniz Aytekin has been named as referee for Werder Bremen’s DFB Cup clash with third division Erzgebirge Aue on Tuesday, 23.09.2008 (kick-off 7pm). For the 30 year old from Obersbach, it will be the first time that he takes charge of a competitive game involving the Green-Whites. This is Aytekin’s first season as a full Bundesliga referee.

 

The music lover and passionate sports man has had some previous experience of Erzgebirge Aue, both in the DFB Cup and in the Bunesliga’s second division. Three times he has refereed the side from Saxony – and their record with Aytekin as referee is a very balanced one. With Deniz Ayketin in charge, Aue have won one, drawn one and lost one.
