Werder Bremen’s summer schedule is taking on a more concrete shape now. On Thursday, general manager Klaus Allofs announced that his side will be playing two friendly games during their training camp in Schruns, Austria.

Werder Bremen’s summer schedule is taking on a more concrete shape now. On Thursday, general manager Klaus Allofs announced that his side will be playing two friendly games during their training camp in Schruns, Austria.

 

On Thursday, 24.07.2008, there will firstly be a clash with three time Greek champions Aris Saloniki. Thanks to reaching their national cup final, trainer Dušan Bajevic’s side have qualified directly for the UEFA Cup.

 

Two days later there will be a chance to meet up with German international appearance record holder Lother Matthaeus, who spent time with Thomas Schaaf during a German Football Federation training programme back in April. Almost a month later, Matthaeus was installed as coach of Israeli championship runner-up Maccabi Netanya. Werder will clash with the German footballing legend’s new side on Saturday, 26.07.2008.
