On Saturday, 26.04.2008 at 3:30pm, referee Marc Seemann will get Werder Bremen’s next Bundesliga game, away to Karlsruhe SC, underway. The law student from Essen, who celebrated his 35th birthday just last Sunday, is currently preparing for his state examination.
In his, until now, 13 games in the Bundesliga, Seemann has so far taken charge of a game involving Werder just once - last season’s game at the Weser Stadium against FC Hansa Rostock, which finished 1:0 thanks to a lone strike from Hugo Almeida. Since beginning his career, the law student has been involved as a linesman with the Green-Whites in action on seven occasions. One of those famous games was the 7:6 penalty shoot-out win in the DFB Cup against VfL Wolfsburg during the 2005/2006 season.
