Werder Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf had made up his mind to use the final training session on Friday to get a final look at his options before selecting his 18 man squad for the trip to Berlin to take on Hertha BSC. All of those involved came through the complete programme unscathed but as a measure of caution, Aaron Hunt has been left out, due to his adductor problems. The German youth international joins Danish international Daniel Jensen (thigh injury) on the treatment table this weekend.

Trainer Thomas Schaaf named the following 18 man squad for the trip to Berlin:

Tim Wiese, Christian Vander, Naldo, Patrick Owomoyela, Per Mertesacker, Clemens Fritz, Sebastian Boenisch, Petri Pasanen, Frank Baumann, Tim Borowski, Jurica Vranjes, Diego, Mesut Özil, Martin Harnik, Torsten Frings, Markus Rosenberg, Hugo Almeida, Ivan Klasnic
