Not even Thomas Schaaf could have imagined hearing himself say those so elusive words during this plagued season, but at the pre-match press conference ahead of Werder Bremen’s up-coming clash with MSV Duisburg, the trainer stated: “The personnel situation looks good! Torsten Frings came through his first game back very well and was able to train fully all week. Daniel Jensen will begin training again this afternoon and Tim Borowski is already back, which means we have almost the complete squad together.”
There was positive news for the coach from the players who are away on international duty too with no injuries being registered. The situation with Naldo is improving also: “He was able to play again against Bielefeld. Of course we didn’t take the risk of letting him go into challenges this week in training, to allow the wound on his shin time to heal, but he will be fine again by the weekend.”
The trainer is hoping now that the gratifying personnel situation continues for a long time, as it is the only way that the team can find its rhythm again quickly: “That is simply an important factor. It’s is just a lot more difficult when you have further injured players to deal with on a daily basis, as it has been this season, and you are forced to change the team for every game.” Things could well get going now for the Green-Whites.
