On Tuesday evening SV Werder won the match of the Press-Supercup at SC Weyhe with 7:1 (5:0). In the presence of approximately 2000 spectators at the central sports facilities of Weyhe, the Bundesliga professionals used their chances consistently specially during the first halftime. Most outstanding on the field was Valdez who thrilled the audience, team mates, and coach with five goals, including a flawless hattrick. His offense partner Ivan Klasnic scored the other goals 1:0 and 5:0.

After the game head coach Schaaf appeared pleased with the performance of Valdez: "The goals speak for him. Five goals had still to be shot even in such a game. Surely this is a good example to some other players.” The goalgetter talent explained his performance this way: "For me there are no friendly games, in my point of view every match is a possibility to show the coach what my potentials are.”

Next to Valdez, goalkeeper Pascal Borel attracted lots of attention as well. The keeper thwarted definite goal chances of the home team and demonstrated an excellent game. The Upper League team made a face-saving goal just before end of the match when team captain Seidel struck an unstoppable penalty shot for 1:7 final result.
