Aleksandar Ignjovski has not been part of the game roster for Werder very often in recent months. And if he has played it's only been for short spurts for the most part. He has appeared for only 405 minutes this season with only two games over the full 90 minutes. The last of those games came against Gladbach on Saturday - after waiting for 14 matches. "I am happy about being back on the pitch. Thanks for the great atmosphere and support," the Serbian told his friends and followers on Instagram.

‘Iggy' earned a starting berth at right back instead of Theo Gebre Selassie after a good week of training. "I told the team in the meeting that it depends on the players themselves if they play. You just have to give your all in training so that I don't have any other choice but to play you. ‘Iggy' did that this week," said Werder coach Robin Dutt, who also praised Ignjovski afterwards. "He played well in the match. He was a part of the team that gave an orderly showing in the second half. Iggy also earned some plus points in this match."

Ignjovski saw himself on a good path. "I waited a long time for my chance. I am happy that I could show again what I can do. Altogether I am satisfied with my performance. Of course there is room for improvement. I hadn't played for a long time. In that regard, it was okay. I have to continue to give my all and showcase myself in every training. The coach will decide the rest," said ‘Iggy'. Ignjovski and the coach had a long talk before the Gladbach match. The coach made it clear to me what he expects from me and talked to me positively. It was a good talk," said the Serbian.

But Ignjovski faces the same question this weekend: will I play or not? "I feel really good in Bremen. I have my wife and my daughter was born here. The fans are superb, I really like the city. The only thing missing is playing time," said ‘Iggy'. His next goal is to be in the starting line-up in the up-coming away match in Frankfurt.
