Celebrations all around for Aleksandar Ignjovski as the 21-year-old made his debut for the Serbian senior national team on Tuesday 28 February 2012. "Iggy" was substituted in after 69 minutes in Serbia's 2-0 test match victory over Armenia on Cyprus. "It was a great feeling for me, the best in my life," said the Werder player shortly after the game on Twitter. That makes Ignjovski another of SV Werder international players.
Lennart Thy also made an international appearance as the attacker played from the 67th minute on but could not hinder the German U20 team's 4-3 loss against Italy in Foggia. Frank Wormuth's team had already secured first place in the group before the match.
