Werder leftback Santiago Garcia went down with an injury at training Tuesday afternoon. The result of a final examination by Werder team doctor Götz Dimanski on Wednesday showed that the Argentinean had suffered a partial tear of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee.

It's unclear how long Garcia will be out though players usually miss a number of weeks with this kind of injury.

The left-footer had played 15 Bundesliga matches this season for the Green-Whites and scored two goals.
