SV Werder currently have three points to their credit, but a further three are planned from the clash with SC Freiburg on Saturday, 04.10.2014 (kick-off 3:30pm). The target is clear - a win and nothing less! „We want the three points - regardless of how we get them. Nothing else counts," stated Robin Dutt at the press conference on Thursday: "It's a very important game for us. The three points that we have are just not enough," added Thomas Eichin, continuing: „We have a home game which we must win to improve our position. The win is a must and the lads know that. No further motivation is needed," stated the Director of Sport.

On the whole, Werder have an exceptional home record against the side from the Breisgau region, winning ten of the previous 15 games between the two at the ‘Weser-Stadion‘. This weekend though, Prödl, Di Santo & Co. Are under pressure to perform against their direct opponents in the table: „We can deal with the pressure. Last season we delivered the answers in difficult situations and that's just what we intend to do on Saturday," said a determined Dutt.

Pulling together

Robin Dutt's men were eager to prove themselves during the week's training: „Of course we want to make up for the defeats during the past, very busy, week. We are all very determined, focused on the task ahead and we are working hard in training. That‘s exactly what I want to see," praised the Werder coach, who is hoping to see his men pull together even more as a unit.

In the name of the team, Eichin explained just how the Werder crew will be approaching match day seven in the Bundesliga season: „We put ourselves in this situation and we will battle ourselves back out of it again. I am completely convinced of that."
