This will be a real highlight. SV Werder will host FC Chelsea on the Day of the Fans on 3 August 2014, a real heavyweight in European club football. This will be the fourth straight season that SV Werder can offer their fans an English Premier League club for the official season opening.

"We are happy that we were able to present this level of opponent to our fans at Weser Stadium. Chelsea have assured us that this match is an important part of their pre-season and they will come with a top-level team. All of the fans can look forward to great opponent," said Klaus Filbry, chairman of the management.

In the past three years FC Everton (1-0), Aston Villa (3-3) and FC Fulham (1-0) have come to Weser Stadium. The Blues however come in as another level of club. After winning the 2013 UEFA Europa League title, the London team showed this season it's one of the best in Europe. In addition to finishing third in the Premier League, Jose Mourinho's team reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Tickets for the match against Chelsea are available for 11 euros (standing ticket) and 20 euros (seated ticket) and can be purchased now online at WERDER.DE or starting on Wednesday 11 June 2014 at 10 a.m. in the ticket center at Weser Stadium (Franz-Böhmert-Straße 1c, 28205 Bremen), and the Werder Bremen Call Center at +49 421 - 43 45 90.
