Werder Bremen headed to their training camp in Belek, Turkey with 24 field players and four goalkeepers. Among those players is Tim Borowski, who the Green-Whites did not have available at the end of the first half due to an ankle injury. It was also unclear shortly before departure if he would make the trip to the Turkish Riviera. On Friday, "Boro" answered German media members' questions at the team hotel. WERDER.DE was on hand as he talked about ...

...the decision to fly with to the training camp: That was a last minute decision because we wanted to wait and see the ankle's reaction to the strain of the lactate test which I fully completed. Of course my bags were already packed because secretly you hope that it works out and therefore I am especially motivated now.

...the winter break: I worked a lot during the winter break. The first week I was solely in Bremen, trained hard and had treatment. The rest of the time I spent running and doing strength and stabilization drills. That has paid off now.

...the training camp in Belek: I have the feeling that all the players are very focused on their work and still have a certain looseness. That can be a recipe for success. What's important - and this I like - is that we have found a good way.

...the first half: You have to ascertain that the first half was not enough for us and was not satisfactory. You could also see that we did not have some of the pillars of the team - for example Naldo and Claudio. For a time there you could play a whole team with our injured players. That is not an excuse, but it is a fact.

...the up-coming second half and what needs to be done better: We have to forget about the first half now, train hard and start a new march in the second half. You cannot have the mindset that everything is bad. We still have 17 matches to improve our current situation. Most important is a good start. That could give us a push forward and the team can gain new confidence. We have an enormous quality in the team, now we have to make sure that we all do our part and believe in our strengths.
