SV Werder Bremen have started their final training camp of the summer preparations just a few hours after their 3-2 test match loss against Ajax Amsterdam. Fritz, Petersen and co. headed on Saturday to Blankenhain near Weimar where head coach Robin Dutt will work on the fine-tuning in the next six days. "We want to go in depth on certain issues for example working on liveliness, getting more tempo in our game and continuing to work on all parts of the team," said the Werder coach about the third training camp.

The 48-year-old Dutt praised the local conditions, saying: "When I got off the bus and saw the great hotel and then the superb grounds, I was really impressed."

Aaron Hunt, Zlatko Junuzovic and Tom Trybull were only partially able to take advantage of the conditions. "Aaron has Achilles tendon inflammation," said Dutt. The coach said Trybull will miss the training camp due to an overstressed foot and will complete a rehab program on site. And ‘Juno' should be back to team training by Monday at the latest with a bruised ankle.

Özkan Yildirim is also close to returning to training. "We were able to continually increase the program in the last few days. Today was very burdensome, you could really tell the two-week break. But it's important that I don't have any pain when I put a load on it. I hope that I can train with the team in the coming days," said the offensive player. ‘Ötzi' was able to go through the first shooting drills parallel to team training after suffering a slight right knee ligament strain on Norderney.

Werder's squad in Blankenhain: Mielitz, Strebinger, Wolf, Otremba, Caldirola, Pavlovic, Lukimya, Makiadi, Arnautovic, Fritz, Ekici, Elia, Hunt, Prödl, Junuzovic, Ignjovski, Kroos, Akpala, Gebre Selassie, Petersen, Trybull, Hartherz, Aycicek, Yildirim, A. Stevanovic, Füllkrug.
