Werder's Austrian striker Marko Arnautovic will miss at least six weeks with a torn ligament in his right knee. The Austrian suffered the injury Thursday afternoon when he got caught in the grass playing with his dog and turned his knee.
"Marko told us about the incident. Of course it's aggravating because we will be missing an important option for the coming weeks," said head coach Thomas Schaaf shortly before team training.
Arnautovic is in treatment with team doctor Götz Dimanski. "We will do everything we can to get him healthy again as quickly as possible and ready to play. But it will take at least six weeks," said Dimanski.
