A whole host of Werder Bremen stars will be jetting off around the world this week in order to represent their country in the upcoming international break. WERDER.DE has all the details:

Central defender Jannik Vestergaard has been called up to represent the Denmark senior squad in a competitive fixture for the first time. "I'm proud - it's an honour," explained the defender. The Danes play Portugal in a European Championship qualifier on 8th October before facing France in a Friendly three days later. Austria, who have included Zlatko Junuzovic in their squad, have already qualified for the tournament have further qualifiers against Montenegro (8th October) and Liechtenstein (12th October). Theodor Gebre Selassie and the Czech Republic face Turkey (10th October) and the Netherlands (13th October).

Claudio Pizarro's Peru side are already in World Cup 2018 qualifying action. They face Colombia (8th October) and Chile (14th October) in the coming weeks. Aron Jóhannsson was originally selected in the USA side for the upcoming games against Mexico and Costa Rica, but his adductor problems have forced him to withdraw from the squad.

Germany U20 coach Frank Wormuth has called up Luca Zander for the upcoming games. It will be the youngster's first appearance in a Germany squad since 2011. Wormuth also named Michael Zetterer, and Leon Guwara in the squad. Levin Öztunali was also selected but won't be linking up with the squad. Maximilian Eggestein is on standby. Germany face Turkey, the Netherlands and England during the "Elite Cup" over the next 10 days.

Florian Grillitsch and Ulisses Garcia will also be on international duty this week. The duo are hoping to help their side's reach the next U21 European Championship. Grillitsch‘s Austria side face Azerbaijan; Garcia and Switzerland have games against Norway as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina.
