All three of Werder Bremen's kits for the upcoming season have now been revealed. The away and alternate kits are now available. The away shirt will be worn for the first time during this weekend's friendly against Europa League winners Sevilla.
Werder will look resplendent in a blue shirt with orange trim on the road this season. The rear of the shirt features Dri-FIT Technology. The club's initials can be found below the collar. The shorts and socks are also blue.
Nike Dri-FIT is a high-performance, microfiber, polyester fabric that moves sweat away from the body and to the fabric surface, where it evaporates. As a result, Dri-FIT keeps athletes dry and comfortable. The names and numbers will also be made of a special material this year for the first time.
Made with at least 96% recycled polyester, each jersey is made using an average of 7 plastic bottles, and each short is made using an average of 6 recycled plastic bottles-adding up to 13 plastic bottles per kit. The recycling process saves raw materials and reduces energy consumption by an estimated 30% compared to manufacturing virgin polyester. Since 2010, Nike Football has used an estimated 115 million recycled plastic bottles to create its high performance kits. Lined up end to end, that's enough bottles to stretch halfway around the world.
