+++ First-class: Werder Bremen's women's team have secured promotion to the 1. Bundesliga thanks to a 4-0 win over Holstein Kiel on Sunday. It's a dream come true for Chadia Freyhat's side because they'll play in the top-flight for the first time in the club's history next season. The Green-Whites are still in with the chance of being crowned champions if they win against Cloppenburg. "If Lübars lose and we win, we'll finish top of the standings," commented Freyhat following the victory in Kiel. WERDER.DE send their congratulations to the ladies. +++

+++ Last week of training: Werder started their preparations for the last game of the current season against Borussia Dortmund on Monday morning. Santiago Garcia, Alejandro Gálvez, Özkan Yildrim and captain Clemens Fritz were all missing from the running session in Bürgerpark through injury however, goalkeeper Raphael Wolf was back involved following hip problems. Franco Di Santo, Davie Selke and Philipp Bargfrede completed an individual session in the weight room. Theodor Gebre Selassie, Luca Caldirola, Levent Aycicek, Melvyn Lorenzen and Luca Zander worked with assistant manager Florian Kohfeldt and completed running exercises out on the training pitch. There is no training for Viktor Skripnik's side on Tuesday before the intensive preparation for the match against BVB begins on Wednesday. +++

+++ Öztunali and Zetterer off to the World Cup: Germany manager Frank Wormuth has announced his squad for the U20 World Cup in New Zealand. There are two Werder players in the 21-man squad: Levin Öztunali and Michael Zetterer. The tournament will take place from 30.05 to 20.06. Germany will come up against Fiji (1st June, 03:00 CEST), Uzbekistan (4th June, 09:00 CEST) and Honduras (7th June, 04:00 CEST) in Christchurch. +++
